Salon Della Vita is a space that’s always evolving, whether it’s with a color makeover and new furniture pieces, or the fresh winds of inspiration.  The chair arrangement is often shuffled, giving stylists a chance to see from another vantage point.  It’s in line with Kim’s own desire to continually see with new eyes.  “I like to get out of my own box, so I can bring that back to the salon,” she says.  Things like going to hair shows and being a drop-in visiting stylist at Suite 303 in Chelsea (NYC) help her stay current.  Says Kim, “I like to know everything that’s out there.”

The in-house art shows add vitality to the walls, and allow the staff to explore their own creative inspiration.  Kim went to SCAD, and brings an artistic approach to running her business.  On the staff-wide fashion photo project in the works, she says, “It’s a way everybody can put their inspiration and ideas into something.”

Kim is a consistent supporter of Savannah artists and musicians, and even buys locally made soaps and candles.  And along with new trends, she’s drawn to what’s “sustainable.” The salon has a new line of products, Davines, that’s easier on the environment.  She hopes to continue on that path, making green choices that also benefit the long-term health of the hair. Whether it’s that subtle art of keeping the salon atmosphere in balance, or integrating more natural products, says Kim, “We’re trying our very best to keep it a clear, healthy environment.”
