Jaime
Jamie is the newest member of the Salon Della Vita team, and has three years as a stylist under her belt. Her passion is mixology and she loves blending colors to create effects, light-heartedly likening it to being a magician. “Sometimes I feel like I need a little hat like Mickey from Fantasia.” While her own tastes lean toward “rock n’ roll…lots of colors and textures,” she excels at lifting medium to dark hair to blonde. It’s sure to bring clients back, since so many want blonde tones. “I guess it’s a Southern thing…and blonde is hard to do without doing too much damage, or washing you out.”
She’s a native Southerner herself, from rural Pine Mountain (near Columbus), where she and her brother sometimes ran behind her father’s plow in the fields. “We would come back orange from the Georgia red clay,” she recalls. She’s also a singer, having been in lots of bands in Columbus and Atlanta, from psychedelic to progressive rock. She’s open to forming one here, if the right musicians cross her path.
Jamie has ambitions to move into editorial work, as a stylist for print magazines and fashion shows. She took part as a stylist for the Banana Republic Fashion Show and photo shoot at Avia Hotel in Savannah. Above all, she’s committed to perfecting her skills and learning new techniques. Says Jamie, “Every time we have a class, I’d like to go….I always want to keep learning. “ |
