Hayley
Maybe you’ll hear it in her Appalachian twang that Hayey comes to Savannah by way of Asheville, NC and is a native of East Tennessee. For now, though, Savannah is home. She likes living in such a walkable city, and even walks to work. Along the way each morning she sets her intention that each client feel listened to and understood. Hayley says, “I do think that’s my strongest gift behind the chair….listening.”
After years as a big money fundraiser for the arts, she found inspiration for a career change in her own backyard. Her passion for tending to her bonsai garden gave her an idea. She says, “I thought, 'I really like cutting shapes into things. Maybe I’ll try cosmetology.' It turned out to be a great fit.” Does she see her clients as little trees, some wonder? “Well,” she says, “like bonsai, hair is an organic growing thing...you can change the whole look and feel of something by changing its shape.”
