Elizabeth
Elizabeth recently stepped into managing the salon, since it seemed a perfect match for her skills and school schedule. She just started SCAD’s 4-year Interior Design M.F.A. program, as part of a major career shift. On design, Elizabeth says, “That’s what I feel like I’m meant to do.” Things fell into place when her husband got a job there.
In the meantime, the business side of the salon is in good hands. Elizabeth brings years of experience as a manager in retail and non-profit, and is currently working toward certification in human resources management. As the main greeter, she’s all about creating a warm, inviting, renewing environment for clients. She says, “Kim’s established a wonderful community here and that’s part of why I’m attracted to being here.”
Elizabeth is from western Massachusetts, but has roots – and EU-Dutch citizenship – via St. Maarten. Her family is French, but her early years were spent on the Dutch side of this Caribbean island. Along with her “obsession” with design, Elizabeth says she likes to be crafty with fibers. And she’s also always dreamt of opening a dance studio for adults, that would offer ballroom, Latin and hip hop styles. |
